A tale of humble beginnings:
In 1970, Tween Age opened its doors to a bevy of nursery school going children, and was located in what present day New Taxi Park!, formally known as 'Mu biloole, e'Nakivubo'! In 1992, impromptu major Kampala Town Council decisions required that the building that was housing then Tween – Age Nursery School since 1976 would be razed to give way for the development of the New Taxi Park, Nakivubo Channel. Between 1992 and 1994, the school was moved to three different locations around Kampala.
But the desire to build a permanent home for the school never died.
And in 1995 Tween-Age Educational Center opened its new doors in Kitemu, Nsangi, the proprietors home village, And it started with only 3 pupils, one teacher, and one room!
By the end of the first academic year after its transfer in 1994 the school owned land 10 acres,
one permanent classroom block (P1 to P3), one permanent dormitory structure, one temporal structure for the Nursery Section, 5 teachers and over 40 pupils.
The Head Teacher Mrs. Musoke decided that in order to continue the provision of quality education to her pupils (both boarders and day scholars) the primary section would stop at Primary Three and later upgrade each succeeding year until it attained Primary Seven. It was finally registered as a PLE centre in 1998
after meeting the acceptable Ministry Of Education and Sports requirements. It had a total of 20 nursery school children, 56 primary pupils. In 2002 TAEC had its first PLE pupils totaling to 16 candidates, with a stunning performance of 14 First Grades and 2 Second Grades.
